Chinese motorcycle manufacturer CFMoto is preparing to unveil its new sportbike, the 750SS, with leaked images and specifications making waves ahead of its official debut. The leak originates from a Chinese type-approval document, shedding light on both the performance and design of this highly anticipated inline-four offering.
The 750SS is expected to fill the gap between CFMoto’s 675SS inline-triple sportbike and its upcoming 1,000cc V4 flagship model. Based on the leaked document, the motorcycle is powered by a 749cc engine, code-named 472MV. Following Chinese engine classification conventions, the “4” indicates a four-cylinder setup, while “72” refers to the bore size. Notably, the bore size matches the 675SS’s engine, suggesting the 750SS achieves its displacement through a longer stroke—likely 46mm—similar to older mid-size superbikes like the Suzuki GSX-R750.
Performance and Specifications
Although still in the development phase, the 749cc engine produces 110hp as per the document—modest for its configuration. However, the final production-ready engine may receive power upgrades. In terms of performance, the 750SS boasts:
- Top Speed: 230 km/h
- Kerb Weight: 213 kg
- Wheelbase: 1,419.8 mm
- Tyre Size: 120/70-17 (front) and 180/55-17 (rear)
The motorcycle also features Continental’s MK 100 dual-channel ABS system, hinting at advanced rider aids like traction control and rear-wheel lift control.
Design and Features
The leaked image reveals a bold, aerodynamic design with sharp and angular bodywork—a step forward for CFMoto’s sportbike lineup. Notable elements include:
- Single-Sided Swingarm – A premium touch for the 750SS.
- Brembo Braking System – Radially mounted brake calipers with cooling ducts for improved performance.
- USD Front Forks – Enhancing handling and front-end stability.
- Winglets – Large, functional winglets integrated into the fairing for improved aerodynamics.
- Quickshifter – Evident by the visible load sensor, further adding to its sport-oriented appeal.
Design Inspirations
The 750SS seems to draw inspiration from CFMoto’s existing models. The headlights and mirrors resemble those on the 675SS, while the tank and seat design appear to echo cues from earlier prototypes like the 500SR concept.
Launch Timeline and Global Market Position
While no official launch date has been confirmed, industry insiders speculate that the 750SS will make its debut in China in early 2025. Post-launch, the motorcycle may reach international markets, albeit potentially under a different name.
Will It Launch in India?
CFMoto’s history in India has been brief, with the brand entering the market in 2019 and exiting soon after due to poor sales. As of now, the company has no concrete plans for an Indian return, making the arrival of the 750SS on Indian shores unlikely.
